There are nine adventure skills:
- Camping, Hillwalking, Backwoods
- Sailing, Paddling, Rowing
- Pioneering, Emergencies, and Air
For each skill, there are nine stages or levels.
In Beavers, we may do some of the skills across a three year cycle, at stage 1 and even occasionally stage 2.
Further levels may be addressed in later sections: Cubs, Scouts,..; some skills, such as Sailing and Rowing, are only usually done by Sea Scouts. Full details of all of the Adventure Skills can be found here.
Displayed here are the nine stages of the Camping skill: the number, the twists of the yellow necker, and the coloured border, denote the stage/level.
Earned badges are displayed on the scout’s right arm, just above the elbow. If he has previously earned stage 1, and then gains stage 2, the new badge REPLACES the previous one on the sleeve.
